Stamping for the Weekend

Good afternoon and a quick share of a little item that seems to have made it's way home with me from Stampalot yesterday. But before I get into crafty things.......I know that's what this is all about really, but we need a bit of social interaction as well......what's the weather like your way ? Sunshine seems in short supply around here this week, it's not one thing or another. What is for sure these cold nights have put paid to most the beautiful Autumn leaves and there are more off than on the trees now and a thick carpet everywhere you walk.

My card is for this weeks Stamping for the Weekend where there is a colour theme of 'Orange, Blue and Purple' but with a twist of an 80's song title with three to choose from: Girls on Film-Duran Duran, Dirty Laundry-Don Henley, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun-Cyndi Lauper, which is the one I have opted for. This also my entry for DCM who want to see use of your newest punch.

My image, a wood mounted stamp, the origin of which I have no idea, looks like a lady that definitely has fun and does not give a damn what anyone thinks. I stamped her with versafine black, embossed with detail clear and painted with Brilliance inks, adding a bit of purple foiling to the flowers and her dress. The really gorgeous DP is from Prima. I ripped the edges of the main piece and shaded with Tim Holtz Dusky Concorde.

The flowers are made from the same DP which is double sided and the leaves are also cut from that and Bazzil using my new L-Em punch from Stampalot which is called 'Ash Family 2' which cuts three matching leaves in varying sizes in one cut. I think this one is a real 'need' and so useful with the different sized leaves, especially as it coordinates with my other ash leaf punch by the same manufacturer. Finally, some lace, punched butterflies and pearls to embellish. The words are printed on the computer using 'Folio Girls' font.

Absolutely beautiful. Such a gorgeous vintage card. On our side of the world here in South Africa, we are heading towards Summer and the days are truly beautiful with mid afternoon thunderstorms here in Johannesburg.

Fabulous card Brenda and she does look a bit of a loose woman lol. The colours go together beautifully and I love the little flower arrangement. You should get this edited quick and enter it into DCM this week - they want to see a card using your newest punch and this fits the bill perfectly.

The weather's turning a little colder now but the leaves still haven't dropped off the trees in my garden. I hope they drop all at once so I can get them cleared up before they find their way into the pond! Having to keep it covered with netting til they've all gone.

Have a good weekend.

Beautiful card Brenda will have to go look see its an interesting colour combination you have made it work really well.

Still quite mild here following a bit of a cold snap. Leaves all beautiful colours and falling we do not get your fen winds on the south coast to blow them off :0

Have fun

Absolutely gorgeous. The papers and colours are divine, the flowers fabulous and the stamp a really great image. An inspired piece of work - just the sort of thing I'd love to be able to churn out but don't have the brain for it.

Evening Brenda. I like the social interaction!!
The weather here has been neither one thing or the other aswell. Misty, then a bit brighter, some sunshine, then back to mist but it's so mild.I don't think I've worn a coat for days! Looking at Sunday's forecast I think thats all about to change though so I suppose we musn't grumble!! The Autumn colours are still looking good.

Love your card as always, those flowers are just beautiful.
Have a great weekend.

Beautiful card! lovely colours. The weather here has been lovely today - been to another Stately home and the sun did break through briefly, but it got a bit cold and windy towards the end of the day and I'm hearing a few rumbles of thunder now. Glad you liked my autumnal pics. Thanks for your kind comments x
